Brasstown Bald Mountain:
Brasstown Bald, rising 4,784 feet, and located on the Towns/Union County line, is the highest peak in Georgia. On a clear day, the 360-degree view from atop the mountain allows you to see four states: Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina!

The Appalachian Trail:
The Appalachian Trail, a 75 year old, 2,174 mile wilderness footpath along the crest of the Appalachian mountains, through fourteen states, beginning at Springer Mountain, GA and continuing to Mt. Katahdin, ME., forms the eastern boundary of the county.

Enjoy wine tasting at Crane Creek Vineyards, or an afternoon of shopping, dining, music and crafts.
The sport motorcycle rider's passion can be fulfilled riding the famous "Dragon's Tail" (Deal's Gap), which is about an hour from here. Sport bike enthusiasts tell us that riding from here to the Dragon's Tail is half the fun!
For the adventurer, white water rafting or kayaking in the Nantahala or Ocoee River or tubing the Chattahoochee may be just your speed!
Hike to the top of Brasstown Bald, the highest mountain (4,784 feet) in Georgia, or wind your way on the historic Appalachian Trail, and be sure to see some of the area's waterfalls like Helton Creek and Amicalola. Their beauty will take your breath away!
